Invitation & Theme
We kindly invite all interested dancing students to Kiel from May 18th – Mai 21st, 2018 to the 59th European Tournament of Dancing Students (ETDS).
The theme for this tournament is Te-Kiel-A. Although our theme could be somehow misleading, this event is alcohol free. No alcohol is sold here and you are not allowed to bring your own alcoholic beverages.
Tournament, Blind Date and evening program will take place in the Mensa II – Leibnizstr. 14

What is ETDS?
The ETDS is a huge Breitensport tournament for ballroom and latin dances. Couples are judged on an individual basis and will be divided in three different groups, amateurs, professionals and masters – after a qualification round.
500 dancers of universities from different European countries come together on a periodical basis to the EDTS (which takes place in Kiel this time).
They compete individually as well as they fight for the teams‘ cup, the Tanzmaus. We explicitly emphasise the Breitensport character of this tournament. Competition dancers are welcome as well, but they are not allowed to dance in the Breitensport tournament. Those dancers have to start in the CloseD or open tournament and will not be counted in the Tanzmaus valuation.
But it is not only the competition: besides having fun during all the parties in the evening the ETDS is also a meeting point for all dancers.
